15-year-old state tournament bracket released

The bracket for the Alabama Babe Ruth 15-year-old state tournament in Childersburg was released earlier today.

Atmore won its district championship on Monday in Brewton, garnering a berth in the state round. Atmore defeated Covington County 5-3 in the winner-take-all game.

The state tournament format is pool play for the first three days followed by a championship round. The championship round is comprised of two semifinal games and then a title game.

The top four seeds advance to the championship round.

Atmore’s pool play schedule is as follows:

Thursday

• Atmore vs. Wetumpka, noon

Friday

• Atmore vs. West Alabama, 9 a.m.

• Atmore vs. Sylacauga, 5:30 p.m.

Saturday

• Atmore vs. Central Alabama, 8 p.m.

 

Sunday’s championship games

• Seed 2 vs. Seed 3, 9 a.m.

• Seed 1 vs. Seed 4, 11:30 a.m.

• Championship, 2 p.m.

Higher seeded teems are home teams. Championship game home/away is determined by coin flip.
