ECHA: 4 new COVID cases since May 28 report

The Escambia County Healthcare Authority announced June 1 that 1,627 cases of COVID-19 have been reported out of its two hospitals.
The latest number is an increase of four cases since the May 28 report.
According to a release, 973 (plus two) cases have been reported out of Atmore Community Hospital, and 654 (plus two) from D.W. McMillan Memorial in Brewton since the last update.
At ACH, 4,777 specimens have been collected, 3,755 have been negative with one pending and 48 inconclusive.
At DWM, 4,312 specimens have been collected with 3,620 negative results, zero pending and 32 inconclusive.
According to the Alabama Department of Public Health, 3,968 confirmed cases have been reported out of Escambia County. Some 708 specimens have been collected over the last 14 days.
Seventy-seven people have died in the county.
The numbers are updated biweekly to help reflect current case numbers from the ECHA. Due to the timing of the informatin, the numbers may differe from the numbers on the ADPH’s website.
Confirmed cases are recorded by public health officials in the patient’s county of residence.
