BOE candidates speak at county Republican Party meeting

Escambia County School Board of Education candidates and those running for state office spoke at the county’s Republican Party meeting at Atmore City Hall on April 18.

School board candidates who spoke included from District 6, Incumbent Sherry Digmon and Michael Bowens; and from District 4, Incumbent Cindy Jackson and John Brantley.

Additionally, Rusty Glover, candidate for Alabama State Auditor; and Ed Packard, candidate for Secretary of State, spoke.

Jared Downing with Gov. Kay Ivey’s campaign, spoke briefly about her accomplishments.

Upcoming events for the party include having a booth at Mayfest; and the Southwest Alabama Republican Rally this Thurs., April 21, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. in Monroeville Town Square.
Some 60 people were present for the meeting.
