Atmore Community Hospital (ACH) announced Tuesday the addition of Alison Gibson, CRNP, to its medical staff.
Gibson will begin seeing patients in September 2022 at the Atmore Urgent Care Clinic, according to a release.
“We are excited to have Alison join our team at the new Atmore Urgent Care. We know she brings a wealth of hospital and clinic experience, which will be a huge asset to the clinic and to the Atmore
medical community,” ACH Administrator Brad Lowery said. “Our plan is to continue hiring our nursing and office staff and be ready for our grand opening at the end of August.”
Gibson received her family nurse practitioner and MSN in nursing degrees from Troy University. She also obtained her BSN degree from the University of Mobile and her registered nursing degree from the University of West Alabama.
Prior to joining Atmore Urgent Care, Gibson worked as a CRNP for Monroe County Hospital, Monroeville Medical Center and Jackson Urgent Care Clinic in Jackson. She also worked at Baptist South in Montgomery, Jackson Hospital and Mobile Infirmary in Mobile, to name a few.
The opening date for the urgent care clinic is tentatively scheduled for August 2022. Contact information and hours will be released in the upcoming weeks.
The new urgent care will offer non-emergent care and increased access to healthcare for Atmore and surrounding communities. This will replace the current walk-in clinic (ACH MedPlus), expanding it to a fully functioning urgent care. The building that is currently ACH MedPlus will become ACH Specialty Care and will house visiting physicians and clinics on a rotating basis. The goal is to increase the number of visiting specialties offered each month.
