ECSO investigating shooting that occurred at 7400 block of Jack Springs Road Monday night

The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office (Ala.) is investigating a shooting that occurred at the 7400 block of Jack Springs Road on Oct. 9.

Sheriff Heath Jackson said in a release that at around 7 p.m. Monday, ECSO deputies, along with Poarch Police and Atmore Police Departments, responded to the scene for a shots fired disturbance.

“Upon arrival, two male subjects were located and were both suffering from gunshot wounds,” Jackson said. “Both men were provided life saving measures, and later airlifted to nearby trauma centers. During the course of the investigation, it was learned that the men had attempted to rob two other men at gunpoint.”

Jackson said one of the victims was armed, and after being threatened with a weapon, discharged his weapon at both suspects.

Jackson said the case is still under investigation and there is no update on the condition of both suspects that were shot.
