Century, Fla. man taken into custody, arrested on attempted murder, discharging firearm charges

A Century, Fla. man was taken into custody and arrested Oct. 12 on attempted murder and discharging a firearm charges, according to the Atmore Police Department.

Public Information Officer Sgt. Darrell McMann said in a release that Travis Scott, 18, was arrested on warrants for two counts of attempted murder, one count of discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling and three counts of discharging a firearm into an unoccupied vehicle.

McMann said on Oct. 6, APD officers responded to Atmore Community Hospital in reference to a victim that had a gunshot wound to one of their feet.

“While speaking with the victim, a second victim arrived at the hospital suffering from a gunshot would to one of their hands,” McMann said. “Both injuries were not life threatening.”

McMann said after interviewing both victims, the officers responded to the 100 block of Patterson Street, where the incident occurred and contacted multiple witnesses.

McMann said Scott drove up to a group of people at the location, exited a vehicle and allegedly began shooting. Scott fled the area in the vehicle.

McMann said Scott was taken into custody on Oct. 12 while inside a local restaurant.

He was transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton.
