The Staff Chevrolet Beavers and the Edgar Business Machines Bears fought to an 8-8 tie in Cal Ripken Minor League baseball Tuesday night.
The Bears jumped on top in the top of the first as Cedric Pierce, Kent Howard and Nick Dailey scored.
The Beavers wasted no time in tying the game as Nick Flowers, Haden McGill and Jon Dean scored in the bottom of the inning.
Suvrat Soni gave the Bears the edge again in the top of the second with a score.
In the bottom of the third, the Beavers' Flowers and McGill came around again to make the score 5-4.
In the top of the fourth, Tanner Kirk, Mitch Yoder and Randy Fretwell took the lead back for Bears, 7-5. They made it a three-run game in the fifth as Dailey scored his second run of the game.
But, the Beavers came back as Gavin Salter and Marshall Burkett scored in the bottom of the fifth. They tied the game as Dean scored again in the sixth.
Cubs 17, Cardinals 8
The Maxwell-Haley-Castleberry Cubs kept the Atmore Vision Center Cardinals grounded with a 17-8 victory.
Cameron McGhee scored in the first inning to give the Cards a 1-0 lead.
But, the Cubs came out swinging as Marshall Rolin, Blake Moye, Derrick Day, Ryan Linam, Dylan Adams, Will Hendrix and Riley Workman scored to take a 7-1 lead.
The Cards' Austin Lee, Steven Brown and Clay Kirby scored in the top of the second. They scored another in the third as McGhee scored to get them back in the game, 7-5.
But, the Cubs' Levi Gideons and Adams scored to increase the lead to 9-5.
Brett Wilkins and Lee scored for the Cardinals in the seventh, but they were never able to get back in the game.
Lions 14, Cubs 11
The Swift Supply Lions handled the Maxwell-Haley-Castleberry Cubs, 14-11.
The Lions took an 8-5 lead into the fourth inning and never looked back.
Scoring runs for the Lions were Brad Mitchell, Buddy Valentine, Wesley Sirmon, Perry Jones, Chase Godwin, Tyler Mosser and Gary Barnes.
Scoring for the Cubs was Marshall Rolin, Blake Moye, Derrick Day, Ryan Linam, Dylan Adams, Cody Phillips, Riley Workman, Cody Mooney and Wesley Webb.
Bears 12, Cardinals 9
The Edgar Business Machines Bears defeated the Atmore Vision Center Cardinals, 12-9.
The Bears jumped on top as Tyler Hostetler, Nick Dailey, Tanner Kirk and Mitch Yoder came around to score in the bottom of the first.
The Cardinals' Troy Grant and Austin Lee cut the lead to 4-2 in the top of the second.
The Bears got those two runs back in the third as Cedric Pierce and Nick Dailey came in to score.
Cameron McGhee and Jacob Rackard scored in the top of the fourth to close the gap again, 6-4.
But, the Bears again stretched their lead as Suvrat Soni, Robert Poole and Chris Smith scored to make the score 9-4.
The Cards' had a big inning in the top of the fifth as Lee, Steven Brown, Clay Kirby, Dalton Phillips and Tyler Boatwright touched home to tie the game at 9-9.
But, the Bears once again scored when they needed to and came up with three runs in the fifth as Hostetler, Dailey and Yoder scored, giving them a 12-9 victory.
