Elizabeth Glavan was crowned Miss Atmore Saturday night.
Glavan also received the Hospitality Award and was named Miss Congeniality along with Abby Helton. Kandace Walker received the Poise and Appearance Award. Tracey Coleman receieved the Physical Fitness Award.
Megan Bennett was first runner up, and Sarah Stephens was second runner up. Rounding out the top 10 were Cassie Boatwright, Tracey Coleman, Amanda Kirby, Karla Martin, Laura Nisewonger, Megan Rolin and Miranda Williams.
Glavan, 18, the daughter of Mike and Ann Glavan, is a senior at Escambia Academy. She maintains a 3.78 grade point average and is ranked third in her class. She was second alternate in the 2000 Escambia County Junior Miss Pageant and was Escambia Academy's Girls State representative for the 2000 school year. Glavan has served as Chamber Ambassador and has performed with the Atmore Arts Council for several years.
Glavan plans to attend Huntington College and major in musical theatre and dance. Her sponsor in the Miss Atmore Pageant was Escambia Glass Company.
Bennett, 15, is the daughter of Al and Sandy Bennett. She is a sophomore at Escambia Academy. She is a two-year member of the Student Government Association, and was recently selected for the varsity cheerleading squad on which she will serve as co-chairman. Bennett is a member of First United Methodist Church and is active with the youth group. Bennett's sponsor was His and Hers Style Shop.
Stephens, 16, daughter of Fred and Ann Stephens, is a sophomore at Escambia County High School. She has been an Academic All Star for two years and maintains a 4.0 grade point average. She is a member of the Fellowship of Christian Students and the Student Government Association. She attends First United Methodist Church where she is a member of the Handbell Choir. Her sponsor was Masland Carpets.
