The Staff Chevrolet Beavers came away with two big wins last week in Atmore's Minor League baseball.
The first victory came against the Swift Supply Lions, 10-6.
The Beavers took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning as Haden McGill scored on a single by Jon Dean.
The Lions tied the game in the bottom of the second as Tyler Mosser scored on an error after hitting a single.
Defense ruled until the bottom of the fourth. McGill, Nick Flowers, Dillian Overstreet, Dean and Josh Peoples each scored to give the Beavers a 5-1 edge.
The Lions cut the lead to 5-4 in the top of the fifth. Mosser, Donovan McLaughlin and Gary Barnes scored. Barnes' triple was a key play in the inning.
But, the Beavers continued to swing hot bats and they scored four more runs in the fifth. James Dean, Flowers, Dean and Overstreet each scored runs in the inning.
Down 10-4, the Lions were able to get two more runs across in Thomas Moore and Buddy Valentine.
Beavers 17, Cubs 8
The Staff Chevrolet Beavers kept their hot streak going with a victory over the Haley-Castleberrry Cubs, 17-8.
The Cubs got on the board in the top of the first as Marshall Rolin came in to score.
The Beavers wasted little time either, but they came around for five runs in the bottom of the inning to take a 5-1 lead.
The Beavers scored three in the second, three in the third, two in the fourth and three more in the fifth.
The Cubs scored three in the third and four in the fifth.
Lions 21, Cubs 13
The Staff Chevrolet Beavers' two victims tried their luck against each other with the Swift Supply Lions scoring a 21-13 victory.
The Cubs appeared to be hot as they opened up the game with six runs in the first. Marshall Rolin, Blake Moye, Derrick Daye, Ryan Linam, Levi Gideon and Dylan Adams each scored.
The Lions got on track in the second inning as they batted around, scoring nine runs in the process. Thomas Moore, Buddy Valentine, Perry Jones, Tyler Mosser, Donovan McLaughlin, Gary Barnes, Austin Prosser, Michael Campbell and Wesly Sirmon each scored.
The Cubs refused to go away though and they tied the game with three more runs in the bottom of the inning. Day, Linam and Riley Workman scored in the inning.
The Lions took the lead again in the third as Prosser scored on a hit by Sirmon.
But, once again the Cubs came back. Rolin led off with a single and later scored on a single by Linam.
In the fourth, the Lions took off again with six runs. Chase Godwin, Jones, Mosser, McLaughlin, Barnes and Campbell came around to score.
Down 16-10, the Cubs could only muster three more runs through the final three innings.
The Lions added five more runs.
Cubs 16, Bears 12
The Haley-Castleberrry Cubs did secure one win as they defeated the Edgar Business Machine Bears, 16-12.
The Cubs got things going when Blake Moye and Derrick Day scored in the first to give them a 2-0 lead.
But, the Bears, who are the same age as the Cubs, came up with three runs in the bottom of the inning as Cedric Pierce, Tyler Hostetler and Kent Howard scored.
The Cubs took the lead back in the second with two runs and then added three more in the third to make the score, 7-3.
Howard and Tanner Kirk scored in the bottom of the third to cut the Cubs' lead to 7-5.
The Cubs kept scoring and increasing their lead, however. They came away with five in the fourth as Rolin, Workman, Chris Phillips, Wesley Webb and Cody Phillips came in to score to increase the Cub lead to 12-5.
In the fifth, the Bears scored three runs to close the gap to 12-8. They tied the game with four more runs in the sixth.
But, the Cubs notched four more runs in the seventh to secure the victory.
Bears 18, Cardinals 2
The Edgar Business Machine Bears took the air out from under the Atmore Vision Center Cardinals by dealing them an 18-3 defeat.
Chris Smith, Nick Dailey, Mitch Yoder, Suvrat Soni and Randy Fretwell gave the Bears an early 6-0 lead.
The Bears held a 13-0 lead before the Cards were able to get their offense going. In the bottom of the fourth they scored their only two runs as Cameron McGhee and Trey Grant came in to score.
Others scoring runs for the Bears were Tyler Hostetler, Kent Howard and Cedric Pierce.
