Bombers jump out to explosive start

The Church's Chicken Bombers are off to a soaring start in girls softball12-and-under age division as they have dropped only one game and currently hold a record of 6-1.
On May 17, the Bombers out-slugged the South Alabama Vending Sluggers to earn a 9-7 victory.
Leading the offensive charge for the Bombers was Heather White who scored two runs and went three for four with two singles and a double. Lori Bonds also scored two runs and went two for three. Others scoring for the Bombers were Skyla McMullan, Melissa Moore, Rachel Ellis, Janey Baltes and Brooke Bell.

Scoring for the Sluggers were Martesha Crenshaw, Megan Day, Jaime Drew, Ashley Brazzell, Haley Fields and Jamea Lee.
Sluggers 13, Silver Eagles 11
The Sluggers came back that same day with a 13-11 victory over the United Bank Silver Eagles.
Scoring for the Sluggers were Markesha Crenshaw, two runs; Morgan Day, two runs; Maranda McKin, Jaime Drew, Ashanti Jones, Ashley Brazzell, Haley Fields, Jamea Lee, Anna McGhee, two runs and Kristina Riley.
Drew picked up the win on the mound for the Sluggers.
Kim Holland and Kayla Presley scored two runs each for the Silver Eagles. Other scorers were Crystal Rolin, Renee Simpson, Kelly Holland, Kris Culliver, Katie Smith, Alise King and Virginia King.
Bombers 15, Mystics 7
The Bombers continued their winning ways on May 18 with a 15-7 decision over the Masland Carpet Mystics.
Heather White and Brooke Bell scored three runs each to lead the Bombers. Other scorers were Skyla McMullen; Lori Bonds, two runs; Melissa Moore, two runs; Rachel Ellis; Danailla Green; Olivia Scott and Hannah Jones.
Bonds picked up the win on the mound.
Elisabeth Hendrix led the Mystics with two singles and two runs scored. Others crossing home plate were Stacey Gibbs, Brittany Powers, Leslie Lyons, Crystal Montgomery and Britton Baisden.
Gibbs pitched for the Mystics.
Mystics 13, Sluggers 10
The Mystics picked up their second win of the season with 13-10 victory over the Sluggers on May 22.
Stacey Gibbs, Leslie Lyons, Britton Baisdon, Rachel Carnley and Sandy Booth scored two runs each for the Mystics. Erin Burkette, Brittany Powers and Courtney Patrick also scored.
Gibbs picked up the victory as the Mystics' pitcher.
Martesha Crenshaw, Jamea Lee and Anna-Lisa McGhee scored two runs each for the Sluggers. Miranda McKinley, Ashley Brazzell and Haley Fields also scored.
Bombers 15, Silver Eagles 10
The Bombers scored nine runs in the first inning which led to a 15-10 victory over the Silver Eagles on May 22.
Heather White, Lori Bonds, Melissa Moore, Rachel Ellis, Kayla Morgan and Brooke Bell scored two runs each for the Bombers. Skyla McMullan, Hannah Jones and Danailla Green also scored.
Bonds picked up the victory on the mound.
Crystal Rolin used two walks and a single to score three times for the Silver Eagles. Renee Simpson and Kayla Presley came around to score two times each. Kim Holland, Katie Smith and Alise King also scored.
Holland pitched for the Silver Eagles.
Sluggers 15, Silver Eagles 11
The Silver Eagles lost another game despite scoring a lot of runs on May 24 as they fell 15-11 to the Sluggers.
The Sluggers' Miranda McKinley and Jaime Drew both scored three times to lead the offensive charge. Megan Day and Ashante Jones scored two times each. Martesha Crenshaw, Ashley Brazzell, Khrystyna Riley, Jamea Lee and Jennifer America also scored.
Providing scores for the Silver Eagles were Kelly Holland, three runs; Crystal Rolin, three runs; Shumetrius Simpson, three runs; Kayla Presley and Alise King.
Bombers 11, Mystics 6
The Bombers notched another win on May 24 as they figured out the Mystics, 11-6.
Kayla Morgan and Danailla Green scored twice to lead the Bombers. Other scorers were Hannah Jones, Heather White, Lori Bonds, Melissa Moore, Rachel Ellis, Janay Baltes and Skyla McMullen.
Bonds picked up the victory as the Bombers' pitcher.
Courtney Patrick led the charge for the Mystics with two runs. Stacey Gibbs, Anushka Banks, Leslie Lyons and Brittany Powers also scored runs.
