Just two weeks after NASA came through the area, another softball tournament will be held at the Poarch athletic complex this time hosted by the Buena Vista Hunting Club and with some interesting rules.
The hunting club is hosting its One Pitch Summer Class Co-Ed Tournament to raise money for their club.
The tournament is a one pitch softball tournament, which only allows one pitch that either results in a hit, strikeout or walk.
Tim Ramer, director of guest services for PCI Gaming, said the tournament should be fun and interesting because of the one pitch rule.
Other rules of the game state how many women must be on the field and how extra hitters must be used.
Ramer said the reason for the rules of how many women must be used it to keep the competition as fair as possible.
The tournament will follow ASA rules, but there will be no fouls and unlimited home runs. Balls are provided at the tournament.
As of now the tournament has eight teams signed up with the deadline for registration at 7 p.m. Thursday.
If 10 or more teams are signed up for the tournament then it will follow a pool format. If less than 10 teams are in the competition then it will follow a double-elimination format.
The registration fee is $110 per team with the full amount to be paid prior to the first game.
The tournament begins at 6:30 p.m. in Poarch.
