Brett Favre has again changed his mind and decided to play football in the NFL once again.
After announcing he would stay retired a couple of weeks back, he has decided against that and is back in the NFL.
He is going to sign a one-year contract with the Minnesota Vikings for a reported $10-12 million that has an option for a second season.
He also started practice with the team Tuesday afternoon and is slated to start their preseason game Friday night.
This melodrama that Favre has induced the last couple of years has really gotten out of control.
At some point, a player needs to realize when to quit and to quit while he is ahead.
His age is quickly becoming a factor with him turning 40 in October.
Last season, he started out strong with the New Jork Jets as the team got off to an 8-3 start before faltering and finishing 9-7.
The reason the team faltered was because Favre sustained a rotator cuff injury that limited his throwing ability.
He should have stayed retired following the end his tenure with the Green Bay Packers.
Leaving the Packers he was leaving behind a great legacy that placed him as one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play the game.
While he still is one of the greatest to play the game, he is letting his legacy take a hit by repeatedly crying, announcing his retirement and then unretiring.
His most recent unretirement must have to do with finishing strong and at least reaching the playoffs.
The Vikings are a strong team because of their defense and running game with Adrian Peterson in the backfield, but they are not a Super Bowl team quite yet. Even with Favre under center they are still not a Super Bowl team.
While some Vikings might be excited to see Favre come and play the other quarterbacks, Tavaris Jackson and Sage Rosenfels have to be taken back because they have been fighting for the job all summer.
One person sure to be excited is Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers who would like to show Green Bay fans who the better quarterback is.
