Keeping busy is something all teenagers try to do, but Escambia Academy senior Kay Leigh Miller does not just try to stay busy, but does with a full load of athletics, honors classes and clubs at the AISA school.
Miller is the captain of the cheerleading squad, is a Lady Cougar basketball player, a member of the track team and particpates in the Pep Club and the Student Government Association.
Miller said her favorite activity is cheerleading because of the athleticism it requires.
Aside from cheering, Miller enjoys playing for the basketball team.
She said basketball is something she has always played and loves the challenge it brings. She added that being the best is something motivates her on the court.
In school, Miller enjoys the creativity of her literature class as well as the information she gains from her economics class.
She said these courses keep her interested because of the curriculum.
Once Miller graduates, she plans to attend a university to major in business.
She said she wants to earn a degree in the business field because she is not only creative, but very business minded. She added she hopes to continue her cheerleading life once she arrives at college.
In her spare time, Miller enjoys a sport not offered at the Academy.
She said tennis is a sport that has always been fun for her, and that she watches on TV. She added that if she could eat with one celebrity, it would be her favorite tennis player.
