ATMORE - Mrs. Flora Black, 82, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2009 in Atmore.
Flora was a native of Detroit, Mich., a longtime resident of Mobile and a resident of Atmore for the past two years. She was a nurse at Providence Hospital ER for 35 years, loved photography, was affectionately known as Aunt FoFo to her nieces and nephews, and attended Indian Springs Baptist Church in Eight Mile.
Her husband, Ernest W. Black; a son, Billy Eugene Black; a daughter, Etta Cardwell; a brother, Norman Morris and a sister Linda Morris, preceded her in death.
Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Adell Black of Eight Mile; a grandson, Harold Black of Denver, Colo.; a granddaughter, Debra Black of Denver, Colo.; a great grandson, Eric Black; three brothers, W.H. Myrick Jr., Mack Henry Myrick and Aaron Horace Myrick, all of Atmore and three sisters, Margaret Smith and Mary Jo Ray, both of Atmore and JoAnn Renault of Las Vegas, Nev.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. today, Sept. 5, 2009 at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Couey and the Rev. Jim Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Little Rock Cemetery. Visitation was held from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Friday at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Lynn McCullough, Larry McCullough, Luke McCullough, Lonnie McCullough, Lee McCullough and Kevin Ray.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.
