Three-vehicle accident snarls traffic

A three-vehicle accident had traffic blocked just after 4 p.m. Friday at the intersection of South Main and East Church streets. Two injuries were reported in the incident.
According to a report from the Atmore Police Department, Larry Marley, 63, and Gloria Marley, 64, both of Milton, Fla., were transported by Atmore Ambulance service to Atmore Community Hospital with injuries sustained in the accident. Details on their conditions were not available.
Larry Marley was driving a 2008 Chrysler PT Cruiser with Gloria Marley as a passenger when the incident occurred.
Other involved in the accident were Billy Glen Freeman, 38, of Atmore, who was driving a 1999 Suburban. Police reports said Freeman was responsible for the accident having misjudged stopping distance and striking the vehicle driven by Marley.
Marley’s vehicle struck a third vehicle driven by Shelly Gunn of Atmore as a result of the collision. Gunn was driving a 2005 Nissan Altima.
No other injuries were reported in the incident.
