Thomas Brooks Jones

ALASKA - Thomas Brooks Jones, a native of Atmore died Sept. 4, 2009 in his adopted city, Anchorage, Alaska, following several years of congestive heart disease. He was 82 years of age.
His parents, John M. Jones and Marjorie Lee Brooks Jones, longtime residents of Atmore and his three brothers, John M. Jones Jr., Leonidas M. Jones and Paul W. Jones, preceded him in death.
Surviving Mr. Jones are his nephew, Leonidas M. Jones Silver of Meriden, Conn. and two nieces Linda Jones Silver of Pittsburgh, Pa. and Paulette Jones Wilkerson of Byrneville, Fla.
After graduation from the University of Alabama School of Law in 1951, Mr. Jones practiced that profession in Brewton for several years before moving to Florida where he taught law and became an appellate justice. He later began services as a government lawyer in which is last assignment of duty was with the U.S. Engineers in Alaska where he became an active member of the World Affairs Council. Mr. Jones was a WWII veteran of the United States Army.
