A few hours following the shooting death of Kenneth Porter Thursday evening on Nathan Road in Nokomis, deputies with the Escambia County Sheriff's Department had the suspects behind bars.
According to Sheriff Grover Smith, Clarence Luker, 37, and Lorraine Gray, 50, both suspects in the shooting, were arrested shortly after 11 p.m. after they were spotted returning the scene of the crime.
Porter was shot during an argument over a ladder leaning up against one of the mobile homes in the trailer park, according to law enforcement officials at the scene. He was transferred to Atmore Community Hospital and later airlifted to USA Medical Center in Mobile where he was pronounced dead.
Luker and Gray are currently being held at Escambia County Detention Facility in Brewton.
According to Smith, both will be charged with murder.
