It’s not just teens and old classmates who use Facebook to tell about happenings and events, The Atmore Chamber of Commerce has joined the latest craze.
Atmore Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Sheryl Vickery with the help from Shelly Williams, chamber office manager, has been busy creating a fan page for the popular Web site, Facebook, to help promote Atmore’s upcoming Williams Station Day event.
Vickery said since the page has been created emails and inquiries have been coming in from across the region and the country.
Vickery said the fan page is also becoming a good tool to reach people who otherwise might not have known about the festival.
Fans of Williams Station Day on Facebook already hail from San Francisco, New Orleans, Michigan, Denver, Col., and Nashville, Tenn., as well as those from the Atmore and surrounding area.
