LITTLE FALL, N.Y. – Ann Maholovich, 87, of Alpine Nursing Home, E. Monroe Street, Little Falls, N.Y. passed away on Saturday, Oct. 10, 2009.
Ann was born on June 14, 1922, in Perdido, Alabama, a daughter of the late Blaz and Mary (Donchivich) Grdjan. Ann spent much of her life in Alabama and Wisconsin and that is where she received her education. She was of the Catholic faith.
On Dec. 12, 1939, she married Stanley Maholovich, a loving union of more than 50 years until his passing in 1990. Ann was a store manager for many years for Kenwin Shop, a ladies clothing store in Atmore.
Ann is survived by her son: Don Maholovich and his wife Patricia of Herkimer; her grandchildren: Kimm Riesel of Utica, Susie Cassel of Auburn, Ind., Teresa Miller of Indianapolis, Ind., and Mildred Sytsma of Culver, Ind.; and eight great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Stanley; her daughter, Kathleen Kellogg of S. Bend, Ind. in 1975; a sister, Marilyn Pimperl; and her brother, Blase (Bud) Grdjan.
Ann’s funeral will be held at the convenience of the family. Her son and family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff and nurses of Alpine (Van Allen’s) Nursing Home for all of their care during Ann’s nine year stay.
