A dismal season held the Escambia County Blue Devils down until they defeated the Citronelle Wildcats 21-14 last Friday.
With that victory, head coach Kyle Davis and the Blue Devil players hope to finish out the season with two more wins.
In order for a winning streak to start, the Blue Devils will have to get past the St. Paul’s Saints this Friday on senior night.
The Blue Devils (2-6, 2-4) are hoping to finish out the 2009 season with a winning streak that could stretch into next year.
Davis said his team is just trying to keep the momentum of the Citronelle win going.
This week with the Saints coming to town, the Blue Devils will work to be efficient on offense, so they can put points on the board.
Davis said playing fundamental football will be the key against a strong St. Paul’s team.
St. Paul’s brings a strong Wing-T offense to this Friday’s region match up.
Davis said the Blue Devil defense will need to play at their best to hold the Saints out of the end zone.
The Blue Devils and Saints kickoff at 7 p.m. at Herbert Barnes Stadium.
