For those who typically use Medical Park Drive as a travel route, the detours may soon be a thing of the past.
Don Whatley, supervisor for Atmore’s street department, said work in the area is near completion.
Whatley said a new culvert as well as a new drainage system has been put into place in the area of construction on Medical Park Drive from McRae Street to East Pine Street.
The work, that began as a drainage problem has turned into more than was expected.
Atmore Mayor Howard Shell said they expect to finish in a couple of weeks.
