Chamber makes holidays a cinch

Local businesses know how important it is for residents to shop at home all year long. The Atmore Chamber of Commerce is helping to keep local dollars local by offering the Atmore Area Gift Certificates.
Sheryl Vickery, executive director for the Chamber, said the program began a few years ago as a way to help spending stay local.
Shelly Williams, office manager at the Chamber, said the certificates can be purchased in any denomination.
Williams said the certificates are sold exclusively by the Chamber of Commerce and are redeemable only in Atmore.
Williams said tens of thousands of dollars in certificates have been purchased through the Chamber offices since the program began a few years ago.
Williams said a number of businesses have expressed the value of the gift certificate program.
Participating merchants in the gift certificate program include Alabama Power Co., Alabama Wing House, The Atmore Advance, Atmore Animal Hospital, Annie’s Community Cup, Atmore Florist, “Atmore News,” Atmore Vision Center, The Beans Store, Bondurant Lumber &Hardware, Brantley’s Tires, Buster’s Restaurant, Carl’s/The Tot Shop, Central Farm Supply, Chen’s Buffet, Church’s Chicken, Coley Petals &Parties, LLC, Country Charms, Creek Family Restaurant, David’s Catfish House, Diamond Food Marts, Earle’s Jewelers, Edgar’s Business Machines, Escambia Drug Store, Escambia Lawn Equipment Center Inc, Fancy Fingers Beauty Salon, Frost Bites, Gregg’s Salon, Helton Service Center, Jalisco Mexican Restaurant, Jus Because, Just 4 Kids, Marvin’s, Muskogee Inn, Nancy’s Etc., Pintoli’s Italian Cafe , Rolin’s Tire Service, Southern Computer Services, Southern Family Markets, Swift Supply Inc, Walgreens, We Care Economy Shop and Weatherfords Sports Grill.
Gift certificates can be purchased during the regular operating hours of The Atmore Chamber of Commerce’s office in the Lion’s Club Community Center on Pensacola Avenue.
