The Atmore Area Chamber of Commerce held its annual banquet Thursday evening at The Club.
During the event, the Chamber presented the Poarch Band of Creek Indians with the Lifetime Achievement Award citing all the accomplishments the Tribe has achieved over the years despite adversity and the many contributions they have made to the community over the years.
Also, longtime Atmore resident Dottie Albert, who has volunteered for numerous organizations and given of her time to assist others in need, was named the 2010 Citizen of the Year.
