Escambia County finished the 2009-10 season on a sour note Friday as they were eliminated from the Class 5A, Area 1 tournament by the Gulf Shores Dolphins 57-54 on the road.
The Blue Devils (9-12) played the Dolphins close in the loss, but were beaten down by missed scoring opportunities.
Blue Devils Head Coach Tim Moorer said missed free throws were the down fall for his team.
The Blue Devils made a valiant comeback in the second half as they erased a 16-point deficit during the fourth quarter.
At one point, the Blue Devils took the lead with a three-pointer hit by junior guard Cedric Pierce.
Moorer said despite free throw woes his team played a good game.

Blue Devils senior guard Kingston Craft finished the game with 13 points, five assists, four rebounds and two steals.
