Northview faced a couple of cats last weekend as they traveled to Pensacola to take on the Booker T. Washington Wildcats in an afternoon match up after facing the Pensacola Tigers that morning.
In the games, the Chiefs defeated the Wildcats, but were routed by the Tigers.
With the win over the Wildcats and the loss against the Tigers, the Chiefs record now stands at 5-2.

Northview’s Chiefs led by head coach Sid Wheatley escaped Pensacola with a win over the Booker T. Washington Wildcats Saturday afternoon.
The Chiefs (5-2, 1-0) picked up the win on the arm of Austin Reid (2-1) who pitched a complete game giving up one run on two hits and three walks. Reid also struck out eight Wildcat batters.
Chiefs Head Coach Sid Wheatley said his team had trouble at the plate, but were saved by strong pitching and defense.
Northview grabbed control of the game in the top of the first inning as they were able to get Brad Lowery around the basepath to score.
Lowery (1-for-2, 2R) led off the game with a single and advanced himself to second and third with stolen bases before being knocked in on a fielder’s choice by Dabney Langhorne (1-for-2, 2B).
In the bottom of the first, Reid pitched his way through the inning despite hitting one batter. He also recorded his first strikeout of the game to end the inning.
Following a scoreless second inning, the Chiefs added two runs to the scoreboard with Lowery recording his second run of the game and Austin Arrington his first.
In this round of at-bats, Lowery reached base on a walk and advanced on a single by Austin Arrington (1-for-3, R).
The two Chiefs sitting in scoring position were advanced by Dakota Stuckey (1-for-2, RBI), who was later picked off to end the inning.
Following the Chiefs extending their lead to three runs, the offense stalled and the defense helped Northview continue to control the game.
Reid and the Chiefs defense held the Wildcats scoreless through four innings before giving up a run in the fifth inning as Bell, the No. 8 hitter for the Wildcats, scored on a single by Roberton.
After giving up the run, the Chiefs held the Wildcats off to pick up the 3-1 victory.
The Chiefs next game is Monday at home against W.S. Neal at 3:30 p.m.

Northview suffered their worst loss of the season last Saturday falling 8-2 to the Pensacola Tigers, which marked their second loss to the Tigers this season.
The Chiefs (4-2, 1-0) were unable to their sticks going only recording four hits in the loss.
Chiefs Head Coach Sid Wheatley said his team was done in by one inning due to mistakes.
Up until the fifth inning breakdown, the Chiefs were keeping the game close as they had only allowed two runs to be scored by the Tigers, while they could only get one Chief player across the plate.
Dabney Langhorne scored the first of his two runs for the Chiefs in the fourth inning to pull his team within one run.
In the fifth inning, the Tigers were able to score six runs with the majority of their batters getting on base due to walks.
Following the breakdown, Northview could only score one more run as Langhorne (1-for-3, 2R) scored on a single by Austin Reid (2-for-3, RBI).
Following the run, the Tigers finished off the Chiefs to pick up the win.
