Lady Chiefs beat Freeport 8-5

After crushing the Freeport Lady Tigers 14-0 in a makeup game on Feb. 25 at Northview High School, the Lady Chiefs traveled to Freeport High School on Friday, Feb. 26 looking to pick up another victory over the Lady Tigers.
The Lady Chiefs (7-0, 0-0) left Freeport with the win they were looking for by defeating the Lady Tigers 8-5 just 24 hours later.
Misty Doran picked up the win for the Lady Chiefs on the mound pitching five innings with Amber McMillan relieving her in the sixth inning to finish the game.
Lady Chiefs Head Coach Sammy Day said his pitchers played well in the victory.
Kolbi Cobb and Candice Greenwell led the Lady Chiefs at the plate with Cobb going 3-for-3 with two RBI and Greenwell hitting 2-for-4 with two doubles and three RBI.
Doran went 2-for-3 in the win.
The Lady Chiefs next game is today against Escambia County High School in the T.R. Miller Tournament in Brewton.
