ATMORE - Mrs. Verna Mae Harris, 64, passed away on Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at a Pensacola hospital.
Mrs. Harris was a native and lifelong resident of Atmore. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister, and attended the Atmore Church of God.
Her parents, Elzie Lee and Luverne Harrison, her grandparents, Shirley J. Rutherford and Ida Mae Rutherford and sister, Alice Ruth Harrison, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband, Leo Harris of Atmore; her son, Jerry L. Harris of Stockton; four daughters, Tammy E. Harris of Molino, Fla. and Judy L. Harris, Janice M. Harris and Krystal L. Harris, all of Atmore; three grandchildren, Daniel Ray Pierce, Heather Denise Pierce and Justin Tyler Harris; five brothers, Harold E. Harrison and the Rev. H. Earl Harrison, both of Atmore, Robert W. Harrison of Walnut Hill, Fla., Donald R. Harrison of Martinville and David M. Harrison of Brewton and five sisters, M. Helen Jones and Dorothy A. Milstead, both of Atmore, Glenda Faye Odom of Nokomis and Linda K. Robinson and Sara F. O’Leary, both of Atmore.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 8, 2010 at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Virgil McIntyre and the Rev. Wayne Fails officiating. Burial will follow at Serenity Garden Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. today, Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Jarrod Jones, Eddie Odom, Kenny Robinson, Matthew Robinson, Floyd Harris and Wayne Harris.
Honorary pallbearers will be Beau Harrison, Bobby Harrison, Robert W. Harrison, Tommy Ashcraft and Judd Mason.
