Nicholas Derrell Johnson( Nico) of Atmore has been selected to the 2001 Babe Ruth 50th anniversary All-Star Edition of Who's Who in Youth League Baseball.
Nico was also selected as a member of the National Babe Ruth League All-Star Team who was the Runner-Up in the 10 year-old division of the Alabama Babe Ruth State Championships.
Nico was nominated by officials of the Babe Ruth League. The league recieved nominations about him from his local team.
Nico's profile and picture, along with other all-stars selected, will become a part of the permanent collection and archives of the Babe Ruth Hall of Fame in Baltimore, Maryland.
They will also go to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York.
Nico is a fifth-grader at Escambia County Middle School. He loves to play baseball and and to play in the band.
He is the son of Veronica Johnson. His brothers and sisters are Calvin, Ciera. He is the grandson of Louise Johnson of Atmore.
