Mrs. Dessie Slay James, 90, a resident of Hall's Fork community died Thursday, January 3, 2002.
Mrs. James is survived by two sons, Jimmy Eugene James of Lampasas, Texas and Arthur Gray James Jr., of Dothan; a daughter, Erma James Baggett of Bay Minette; four grandchildren, Lindy Bundy and Sharon McGruff, both of Bay Minette, Scarlette Coulson of Lewisville, Texas and Jeanna Witt of Key Largo, Fla.; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, January 7 at 2 p.m. at Norris Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wendell Hadley, the Rev. Ralph Johnson and the Rev. Ray Bundy officiating.
Burial followed at James Family Cemetery in Hall's Fork.
Pallbearers were Mrs. James' great-grandsons, Ray Bundy, Joel "Joe" Clark, James "Jim" McGruff, Clint David, Jacob Witt and Joshua Witt.
Norris Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
