James Melton Amos

Mr. JAmes Melton Amos,82, died Thursday, September 5, 2002, at a Mississippi Hospital.
He was a native of Bay Minette, former resident of Perdido and resident of Gulfport, Miss. for the past eaight years. He attended the Baptist church.
Mr. Amos is survived by five sosn, Clifford Amos and Carlton Amos, both of Atmore and Will Amos and James Oneal Amos, both of Davisville and THomas Amos of McCullough; three daughters, Carolyn Jackson and Polly Dean, both of Atmore and Beatrice Seals of Davisville; three brothers, Frank Amos of Lakeland, Fla. and Murray Amos and Ralph Amos, both of Bay Minette; three sisters, Gladys Henry and Eunice Grissett, both of Mobile and Annie Mae Boyington of Pensacola; 15 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, September 7 at 10 a.m. at Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Johnny Elliott officiating.
Burial followed at Perdido Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Oneal Jackson, Stevy Jackson, Robin Jackson, James Comalander, Bryan Harrelson and Leonard Emmons.
Eastside Chapel Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
