David DeWitt Atchison, Jr.
March 18, 2003
Funeral services for David DeWitt Atchison, Jr., 68, will be held on March 21, 2003 at 11 a.m. at the Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel, with Brother Kenneth Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery with full military honors and Masonic graveside services.
Family members will receive friends on March 20, 2003 at the Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m.
Born in Maplesville on Nov. 23, 1934 to David DeWitt and Roxie Moore Atchison, Sr., he was retired from the U.S. Army, where he served in Vietnam and Korea. He attended the Bride of Christ Church and was also a Mason and a Shriner. He died on March 18, 2003 in Bay Minette.
He is survived by his wife, Mattie L. "Pat" Atchison of Atmore; a son, Thomas Armstrong of Pensacola; two daughters, Cynthia Boyd of Mobile and Cay Glenn of Perdido; two brothers, George Atchison of Summerdale and Tommy Atchison of Frisco City; two sisters, Vera Stewart and Katie Cats, both of Birmingham; four grandchildren, Brian Armstrong, Kelly Glenn, Danny Glenn and Chris Armstrong; and four great-grandchildren.
Active pallbearers will be Masons.
Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home, Inc., is in charge of all arrangements.

Funeral services for Brandon Christopher Agerton, 18, were held on March 18, 2003 at First Baptist Church in Atmore, with Rev. Kelly Brown and Rev. Jerry Keese officiating. Interment followed at Flomaton Cemetery.
A native of Flomaton and a resident of Atmore for the past 13 years, he was an employee of Dollar General Store and a 2002 graduate of Escambia County High School. He died on March 14, 2003 in Flomaton.
He was preceded in death by his father, Chris Agerton; and his grandfather, Thomas Rabun Bethea.
He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Dawn and Ken Cooper of Atmore; his sister, Courtney Cooper of Atmore; his grandparents, Mildred Bethea and Herb Boutwell of Flomaton, Jesse and Dorothy Mulder of Flomaton, Nadine Agerton of Brewton and Ben and Katherine Cooper of Atmore; and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.
Pallbearers were Ryan Daniels, Spencer Rodgers, Emanuel Bethea, Justin Beasley, Zach Brooks and Adam Young.
Eastside Chapel Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Herman David Boutwell

Funeral services for Herman David Boutwell, 59, were held on March 17, 2003 at the Eastside Chapel Funeral Home, with Rev. Mike Henderson and Rev. James Johnson officiating. Interment followed at Traveler's Rest Cemetery.
A native and lifetime resident of Flomaton, he was a retired employee of Escambia Vault and Monument Cemetery and attended the Friendship Freewill Baptist Church. He died on March 15, 2003 in Flomaton.
He was preceded in death by his son, Herman Ander Boutwell. He is survived by his wife, Bettie Strength Boutwell of Flomaton; his daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Mark Hastings, Sr., of Flomaton; his grandson, Mark Hastings, Jr.; five brothers, Tony Boutwell of Flomaton, Jimmy Boutwell of Flomaton, Alvoid Boutwell of McCullough, Floyd Boutwell of Perdido and Buddy Boutwell of Walnut Hill; and four sisters, Beatrice Emmons of Flomaton, Marie McMillan of Brewton, Hazel Walston of Byrneville and Melba Lambeth of Atmore.
Pallbearers were Paul Howard, Tim Green, Rufus Strength, Billie Strength, Steve Emmons and Ray Emmons.
Eastside Chapel Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Robert A. Graham

Robert A. Graham, 74, died on March 9, 2003 at Baptist Hospital.
A graduate of Escambia County High School and a member of the football team – where he was one of "Barnes' Boys" – Graham served in the United States Marine Corps and was a member of the Full Gospel Church.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Autrey A. and Ethel (DeLoney) Graham, and a granddaughter, Katy Frierson.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Graham; three daughters, Toni Frierson of Fairhope, Helene Chamberlin of Cleveland, Texas, and Kirstie Dupuy of Baton Rouge, La.; three sons, David Graham of Madisonville, La., Ronald Graham of Beaufort, S.C., and Terrence Graham of Alvin, Texas; 13 grandchildren; and a cousin, Betty Norwood of Butler.
King James Smith

Funeral services for King James Smith, 93 and a resident of Atmore, were held on March 17, 2003 at the Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel, with Brothers Kelly Brown, Richard Hughes, Jessie Wood and Carl Lambert officiating. Interment followed at Sardis Cemetery in Wawbeek.
Born on July 5, 1909 in Bratt to the late James Marshall and Zeruah Rona Burkett Smith, he was a retired fieldman and farmer with the Department of Agriculture. He died on March 14, 2003 in Atmore.
He is survived by his wife, Olvena Bell Smith of Atmore; two sons, Max Smith of Hurtsboro and Michael Smith of Canoe; a daughter, Sylvia Hart of Daphne; three grandchildren, Anita Hitchcock, Brian Scott Smith and Benjamin Michael Smith; and five great-grandchildren, Mary Mills Hitchcock, Jack and Kate Hitchcock, Bailey Carol Smith and Samuel Graham Smith.
Pallbearers were Brian Smith, Ben Smith, Dean Smith, DeWitt Bell, James Glass and Raymond Jenkins. Honorary pallbearers were his nephews.
