Charles Rawls
Mr. Charles "Chuck" Rawls, 71, of Russellville, died Monday, September 27, 2004 at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville, Arkansas. The son of Ben and Beulah McCarthy Rawls, he was born December 25, 1932 in Tallahassee, Florida. He married Ruby Reynolds, on October 22, 1952 at Oakland, California. He was a United State Air Force Veteran of the Korean War. He worked as a printer with the Mobile Press Register in Mobile, Alabama, retiring in 1981. Chuck also worked in security at Arkansas Nuclear One and Arkansas Tech University. A member of the Masons and Shriners, he was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jeff Rawls and a son, Brian Rawls.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby Rawls, Russellville, Arkansas; a son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Jan Rawls, Weisbaden, Germany; a daughter and son-in- law, Vickie and Jim Bryant, Russellville, AR; seven grandchildren, Robin Rawls, Nick Rawls, Cody Rawls, Brad Bryant, Scotty Bryant, Adam Bryant, Jennifer Bryant; two great grandchildren, Kristina Bryant and Peyton Rawls; a sister-in-law, Carylon Evants, Russellville, AR.
Funeral will be at 10 am Thursday, September 30, 2004 at Humphrey Chapel. Rev. Mark Evants will officiate. Burial will be at Booher Cemetery at Russellville by Humphrey Funeral Service. Visitation will be 5-7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to American Heart Association.

Lorette M. Spence
Mrs. Lorette M. Spence, 84, of Pensacola passed away Monday, September 27,2004.
She was born January 6, 1920 in Bushnell, FL to Ralph and Maud Mullins who then moved to the Greenville, AL area where Lorette and her five siblings grew up.
Lorette was wed to Hadley Spence in 1941, residing in the Atmore, AL and Northwest Florida area for all of their lives and raising their family.
She was an employee of Monsanto for many years where she made many friends, and was valued for her strong work ethic and positive outlook. She was a woman of strong faith being a member of Southern Baptist congregations all of her life, and also Eastern Star. She especially loved singing and playing the old hymns.
Her husband Hadley and daughter Emily S. Taylor preceded Mrs. Spence in death.
She is survived by her sons Wendell Spence of Hobe Sound, FL and Terrell Spence of Toronto, SD, a brother Graham Mullins, a sister Virginia Cole both of Greenville, AL; a special niece/sister-in-law Eloise Buck Mullins of Bay Minette, AL. Six grandchildren four great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and in-laws also survive her.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until Funeral Service time at 11:00 AM Saturday, October 2, 2004, at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel, with Rev. Luciano Guerra officiating. Interment will be at 2:00 PM at Serenity Gardens in Atmore, AL. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

Carolyn Odom Stacey
Mrs. Carolyn Odom Stacey, 70, passed away Monday, September 27, 2004 at a Santa Rosa County hospital.
Mrs. Stacey was a native and lifelong resident of Century and attended the Tabernacle Baptist Church. She was a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Sister and a friend to anyone in need. Proceeded in death by three Sisters, Mildred Odom, Helen Campbell and Inez Hammond.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Arthur "Buck" Stacey of Century; her Son Allen Stacey Of Century; two Daughters, Susan Smith of Brewton and Debbie Qualls Hamilton of Century; three Brothers, Billy Odom of Century, Roy Odom of Flomaton, Rev. Doug Odom of Atmore; a Sister, Irene Odom Cash of Century; 6 Grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Thursday, September 30, 2004 at 2:00 P.M. at the Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Cloud and Rev. Gene Stokes officiating.
Burial will follow at McCurdy cemetery.
Visitation was held Wednesday, September 29, 2004 between 6:00 and 9:00 P.M. at the Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were William Odom, James Hughes, Rick Hammond, Greg Odom, Keith Odom, and Mike Hammond. Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Cash, Anthony Cash, Greg Qualls and Kenny Hammac.

Jackie Chavers
Miss. Jackie Chavers, 41, passed away Wednesday, September 29, 2004 in Atmore.
Miss. Chavers was a native of Mobile and a resident of Canoe since 1996. She was a loving Daughter, Sister and Friend to many and will be missed by her family and friends. She attended the Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her Father, Jack Chavers.
Survivors include: her Mother and Stepfather, Nola and Shirley Martin of Canoe; three Brothers, Tony and Bishop Chavers of Charleston, WV, Tim and Kim Chavers of Charleston, WV, and Greg and Barbara Chavers of Fort Worth, TX; her Sister, Tracy Chavers Sells of Canoe; and a number of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces and Nephews.
Funeral services were held Saturday, October 2, 2004 at 10:00 a.m., at the Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Fred Brown officiating.
Burial will follow at Canoe Freewill Cemetery.
Visitation was held Friday, October 1, 2004 between 5:30 and 9:00 p.m. at the Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Grady Barnes, Cody Sells, Dakota Sells, Tony Chavers, Tim Chavers, and Greg Chavers. Honorary pallbearers will be David Barnes, Paul Black and Josh Willis.

Viola Cole Blythe
Mrs. Viola Cole Blythe (known to many as Wheat Cole) of Atmore died Monday, September 27, 2004 at the age of 78 at her residence after a short illness. She was born in Atmore, AL to the late Grady &Eola Amos Cole.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Blythe; a daughter, Doris Wright; two grandchildren, Nicole King and Allen Wright; three sisters, Vasie Cole, June Rose Cole Anthony, &Celest Cole Fisher.
She leaves to cherish her memories: a daughter, Vivian King, Detroit, MI; two brothers, David &Julian Howard (Delois) Cole of Atmore, AL; sister, Rosie Bell Teague, Chicago, IL; The Hartwell family of Rye, NY; nine grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren; one great, great, grandchild; a special nephew, Robert Dempsey, of Cantoment, FL; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral services were Friday, October 1 at 1:00 p.m. held at the Mt. Gilead Missionary Baptist Church.

Elma Brown Lawson
Mrs. Elma Brown Lawson died at the age of 85 on Sunday, September 26, 2004 at West Florida Hospital. She was a native of Uriah and a resident of McCullough for many years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of McCullough, Mother of the Church, President of the Pastor Aid and Mother of the Community.
She was preceded in death by her husband Albert Lawson and her daughter Vinnie Brown.
She is survived by twelve daughters Fannie Lawson of Jamaica, NY, Elizabeth Hodges of Irvington, NY, Annie Brown, Judy Mallard, Gertuae Brown all of Ft. Lauaerdale, FL, Emma Lee of Newark, NJ, Lillie Mae Lee, Jemethia Ballard both of Atmore, Alberta Johnson, Patricia Johnson both of McCullough, Octavia Walters of Hollywood, FL, Tarji Adams of Deerfield Beacon, FL., Three sons Willie Lawson of McCullough, Foster Brown of Boundbrooks, NJ, David Lawson of Hollywood, FL, One sister Ann Bell of Mobile. One brother Allen Brown of Pensacola, FL, Several Grandchildren and Great- Grandchildren.
Funeral services were Saturday, October 2, 2004 at 1:00p.m. at First Baptist Church in McCullough. With Rev. Charles Jones officiating.
Burial followed at First Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation was Friday, October 1, 2004 from 1:00p.m. until 8:30p.m. at Turner Funeral Chapel.
