Since beginning the season with two dramatic wins, the Northview Chiefs have lost three of their last four games and enter this week's game against Baker looking to improve on their 3-3 record.
In last week's contest against reigning district champions Marianna, the Chiefs put up a good fight. But, turnovers paved the way for their second district defeat.
Baker enters Friday night's game with a record of 2-3. One of those was a 27-24 victory over Bonifay who has already beaten the Chiefs. But, Baker was also shut down by Walton, 27-0, while Northview came away from WHS with a 42-20 victory.
Baker is a non-district game for the Chiefs, but they are looking for some momentum to carry them into the final weeks of the season.
The big game still remaining for the Chiefs is a district game against Catholic on Nov. 3. Head Coach David Williams said his team can still reach their goal of making the playoffs.
As for Baker, Williams said they always field a good team and earning a victory on their turf will not be easy.
In order to earn a victory, the Chiefs must stop making mental mistakes and giving the opposition opportunities.
Williams said that his players continue to practice hard and still have the confidence they need to reach their goals.
