Bobby Allen Thompson
FLOMATON – Mr. Bobby Allen Thompson Sr., 50, of Flomaton passed away Saturday, Sept. 9 at a Pensacola hospital.
Mr. Thompson was a native of Flomaton and a resident of Flomaton for the past 20 years. He was an employee for the Escambia County Road Department for 29 years, a loving husband and father. He liked to work on mechanics and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Thompson's father, Bert Thompson, preceded him in death.
Survivors include, his wife, Sue Thompson of Flomaton; his son, Bobby Allen "B.J." Thompson Jr. of Flomaton; his daughter, Jessica Lynn "Jessie" Thompson of Flomaton; his mother, Christine Thompson of Flomaton; a brother, Charles Thompson of Flomaton; two sisters, Gracie Pridgen of Flomaton and Pam Bethea of Kalapps, N.C.; father-in-law and mother-in-law, William and Barbara Gresham of Flomaton and a brother-in-law, Dewayne Gresham of Flomaton.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2006 at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Earle Greene and the Rev. Gladdin Mothershed officiating. Burial followed at Sardis Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Andy Moye, Randal Robbins, Greg Odom, Jeremy Pridgen, Bubba Pridgen, Will Chavers, Dewayne Gresham and Eddie Conway.
Visitation was held from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 11, 2006 at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Annie Belle Lowery LeMay
BREWTON – Mrs. Annie Belle Lowery LeMay, 89, of Brewton died Sunday, Sept. 10, 2006 at The Village at Cook Springs in Cook Springs.
Mrs. LeMay was a native of Escambia County, having resided in Brewton for her lifetime. She was a homemaker and of the Pentecostal Holiness faith.
Mrs. LeMay's daughter, Sybil Tedder, and her sons, Dalton P. Lowery and John C. Lowery, each preceded her in death.
Survivors include, her sons, Jerome Lowery of Margaret, Ronnie Lowery of Atmore, Tyrone P. "Samp" Lowery of Brewton, Douglas Lowery of Arkansas, Gordon Lowery of Ozark and Hormel Lowery of Margaret; her sisters, Allie Gulley of Atmore and Ruby McMillan of Amarillo, Texas; 33 grandchildren and 46 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Sept. 12, 2006 with the Rev. Andy Boutwell officiating. Interment followed in Robinsonville Cemetery in Atmore with Flomaton Funeral Home directing.
Visitation was held from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Sept. 11, 2006 at the Chapel of Flomaton Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Chad Lowery, Bradley Tindle, Jimmy Tindle, Brandon Tindle, Jason Sutherland and Terry Boutwell.
Landon McKain Presley
FLOMATON – Master Landon McKain Presley of Flomaton passed away Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2006 in a Pensacola, Fla. medical facility.
Presley's grandfather, Dana Whitehair; great grandparents, W.H. and Rena Presley and great grandmother, Dora Heathcock, each preceded him in death.
Survivors include, his mother, Becky Lyn Presley of Flomaton; two brothers, Lukas McKenzie Presley and Levi McKenlee Presley; two grandmothers, Beatrice Presley of Flomaton and Margaret Resso of Flomaton; an aunt, Leslie Brooke Glass of Flomaton and an uncle, Charles Avery Whitehair of Flomaton.
Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 11, 2006 at Poarch Baptist Church Cemetery with deacon Larry Maudlin officiating. Interment followed in the Poarch Baptist Church Cemetery in Atmore with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Brewton directing.
John Harold Justice
HOUSTON – Mr. John Harold Justice, 94, of Atmore died on Sept. 7, 2006 at his residence.
Mr. Justice was born on May 12, 1912 in Sand Springs, Okla. And served as a Navy Lt. Senior in World War II. He was last employed with Cassens Transport C. as a Claims man. Even at the age of 94, Justice remained very active, was an avid reader, continually exploring new technology and stayed very current with world events.
Mr. Justice's beloved daughter, Brenda, preceded him in death.
Mr. Justice leaves behind his loving wife of 62 years, Sarah, and his two lovely daughters, Patricia Phelan and husband Kevin of Atmore and Sally Justice of San Antonio; his two loving grandsons, Bill Jahn of Sperry, Iowa and Tim Phelan of Oakland, Calif., who will always remember the many lessons of life as well as the practical skills he taught them from their childhood days. Mr. Justice also leaves behind three great grandchildren he enjoyed immensely on their visits to Atmore.
Harold loved studying Bible doctrine and lived life in the reflection of his strong sense of Christian values. He was a long-time member of the Berachah Church in Houston, Texas, led by the Rev. R.B. Thieme Jr., whose teachings Harold found to be intellectually and spiritually inspirational.
Mr. Justice will always be remembered for his love of family, his positive outlook on life and for always finding the good in people and in life's many twists and turns.
The family of Mr. John Harold Justice had a memorial service for the family on Saturday, Sept. 9, 2006.
Atmore Memorial Chapel Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements.
