Ken Odell Few
ATMORE – Mr. Ken Odell Few, 31, of Atmore passed away Saturday, Sept. 16, 2006 in Brewton after a brief illness.
Mr. Few was a native of Atmore and a longtime resident of Brewton before moving to Atmore three years ago. He was a logger and of the Holiness faith.
Survivors include, his father, Ottis (Diane Norwood) Few of Flomaton; mother, Annie Mae Few of Brewton; wife, Laura Norwood of Atmore; son, Tanner Mason of Andalusia; two daughters, Shyla Few of Andalusia and Kendall Few of Atmore; stepdaughter, Jade Brooks of Atmore; two brothers, Tommy Few of Brewton and Donnie Few of Brewton; two sisters, Sandy (Phillip) Capps of East Brewton and Teresa Ivey of Brewton; paternal grandmother, Bertha Wilson of Brewton and his uncle and aunt, Horace and Carrie Few of Silsby, Texas.
Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2006 at William Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in Brewton.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 21, 2006 at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Michael Cosey officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery in Atmore with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Brewton directing.
James Lavelle "Jim" White
ATMORE – Mr. James Lavelle "Jim" White, a native of Flomaton, and a resident of Atmore for the past 38 years, died Saturday, Sept. 16, 2006.
Mr. White was born Aug. 14, 1939. He was a retired oilman and an avid fisherman, hunter and devoted family man.
Mr. White's parents, Harvey and Mary Ella Bondurant White and two brothers, Roy W. White and Douglas White, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his loving wife of 46 years, JoAnn Clarke White; two children, Jon Steven (Kim) White of Fairhope and Jamie (Malett) Rowland of Atmore; five grandchildren, Clarke White, Matt Amerson, Macy Singleton, Tyler White and Layton White; six brothers, Harvey (Betty) White, Larry (Dianne) White, Earnie (Angie) White and Danny (Teresa) White, all of Flomaton, Harold (Linda) White of Navarre, Fla. and Rodger White of Brewton; one sister, Sharon (Kenny) Folsom of Loxley; one sister-in-law, Charlene Clarke (Ernie) Frost of Mobile and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many devoted friends.
Services were held at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2006 from Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Larry White officiating. Interment followed in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Active pallbearers included Doug White, Jeff White, Ben White, Kevin White, Colton White and Ken Folsom. Honorary pallbearers were all of Mr. White's coffee shop friends and special friend Tommy Qualls.
Family received friends from 12:30 p.m. until service time on Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2006 at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.
Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home of Atmore was in charge of all arrangements.
Mary Elizabeth Gonzales Earle
BLACKSHER – Mary Elizabeth Gonzales "Ray Ray" Earle, a native of Mobile, and a resident of Blacksher, died Friday, Sept. 15, 2006 of cancer.
Earle was born Jan. 21, 1946 in Mobile. She attended Bishop Toolen High School and Mary Mount College of Boca Raton, Fla.
Earle's parents, Arthur Sebastian and Mary Bean Gonzales, preceded her in death.
Survivors include, her husband, Thomas John Earle Jr. of Blacksher; her daughter, Lillie Earle (Danleigh) Corbett of Stockton; her son, Thomas John Earle III of Atlanta; two grandchildren, Mary Mason and Lee Corbett of Stockton; three loving sisters, Dina G. (Tom) Bender of Mobile, Dell G. (Gip) Garner of Stockton and Lisa G. (Scottie) Mayfield of Athens, Tenn.; her brother, Arthur S. (Dean) Gonzales Jr. of Mobile; three sisters-in-law, Catherine Earle Cortelyou of Blacksher, Martha E. (Bill) Smith of Montrose and Agnes E. (Harry) Smith of Montrose and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
A memorial mass was held at noon on Tuesday, Sept. 19 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mobile with Monsignor Warren Wall officiating. The family received friends at 10:30 a.m. before the service in Sisters of Mercy Hall at St. Mary's Catholic Church.

Ruby Lee Phillips
PENSACOLA – Mrs. Ruby Lee Phillips, 92, passed away Saturday, Sept. 16, 20006 in Pensacola, Fla.
Mrs. Phillips was a native of Perdido, a former resident of Atmore and Bay Minette and a resident of Pensacola, Fla. for the past three years. She was a wonderful mother of 11 children, a homemaker and a hard worker.
Mrs. Phillips' husband of 53 years, Charles David Phillips; two sons, Gary Phillips and Lance Phillips and three daughters, Ramona McKissack, Linda Todd and Gail Harrison, all preceded her in death.
Survivors include, five sons, K.C. Phillips of Cross Roads, Lynn Phillips of Flomaton, Charlie Phillips of Atmore, Murray Phillips of Perdido and David Phillips of Chunchula; a daughter, Carmer Lewis of Pensacola, Fla.; 36 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; a brother, Gene Bryars of Mobile and a sister, Opra Plovanich of Bay Minette.
Funeral services were held at noon on Monday, Sept. 18, 2006 at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Cornelius Phillips officiating. Burial followed at Bryars-McGill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Greg Forbes, Joe Lewis, Hubert Parker, Andy Taylor, Jerry Lloyd and Russell Lloyd.
Eric Eugene America
BAY MINETTE – Eric Eugene America, 25, of Bay Minette passed away Tuesday, Sept. 12.
Mr. America was born on Feb. 19, 1981. He was a 1999 graduate of Baldwin County High School and served in the United State Air Force. He was employed at Bay Minette Glass Company in Bay Minette.
America's father, Joe America Jr., preceded him in death.
Survivors include, his mother and stepfather, Billy and Wanda McCall of Bay Minette; children, Jaliek Cannon and Jayla America, both of Bay Minette; two sisters, Andrea J. America of Bay Minette and Tamekia (Jerome) McCants of Atmore; three brothers, Darryl D. Evans of Atlanta, Demetrius America of Huntsville and Joe America III of Bay Minette; a God sister, Marlette Fields; four aunts, Elaine Evans of Pensacola, Fla., Sharon (Larry) Anderson of Bay Minette, Ila Renee Hill and Kimberly Jenkins, both of Mobile; three uncles, James C. Hill, Clyde Evans and Gregory Evans, all of Bay Minette; four nieces; one devoted nephew, Fredrick D. Barnes; seven devoted and loving cousins, Sajarata Anderson, Jacque Tucker, Labarron Evans, Fred Anderson Jr., Gregory Lyles, Annette Hollis and Yolanda Evans; a host of other relatives and friends; one devoted friend, Tommie L. James and one special devoted friend, Shantese Igbinoba.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, Sept. 16, 2006 at Trinity Chapel A.M.E. Church in Bay Minette with the Rev. Edgar Jemison officiating. Visitation was held prior to the service from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m.
Interment was held at Mutual Aid Cemetery in Bay Minette. Pallbearers included Cleophus French, Antonio Cooks, Elisha Jones Jr., Bobby Hill, Zeno Green Jr. and Derrick James. Flower bearers were friends and classmates.
Professional services were entrusted to Robinson and Christian Memorial Funeral Home of Atmore.
David Lee Williams
WEST PALM BEACH – Mr. David Lee Williams, 65, passed away Monday, Sept. 18, 2006.
Mr. Williams was born Feb. 17, 1941 in Monroe County to the late Mrs. Brunetta Williams and Mr. John Burley Williams.
Survivors include his son, Gregory (Nicole) Williams and granddaughter, Alyssa Williams of West Palm Beach, Fla.; two brothers, Gilbert Williams and sister-in-law Helen Williams (deceased) of Jonesboro, Ga. and Alex O'Neal and sister-in-law Mary O'Neal off Stone Mountain, Ga. and one sister, Voncile McQueens and brother-in-law the Rev. William J. McQueen (deceased) of Cincinnati, Ohio and one sister, Erthell preceded him in death, Dorothy Deyounks (ex-wife) of West Palm Beach, Fla.; a special devoted friend, Clara Watson of West Palm Beach, Fla. and Hazel (Michael) Ulmer of West Palm Beach, Fla.; Karlean Williams of NC (nieces) and Gilbert Williams Jr. of Chesapeake, Va., Quincy McQueen, Ohio (nephews) and a host of great nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Sept. 23, 2006 at Christian Memorial Funeral Home in Atmore with the Rev. Alfonza Williams officiating. Visitation will be held from noon until service time.
Interment will follow in Rabb Cemetery.
