While I was not a member of the Centennial Committee, I was privileged to be asked to work with committee member Gloria Marshall on the senior citizen interviews for the "Reflections" booklet.
Gloria spent many hours lining up interviews for us and driving me all over the Atmore area to talk with these special citizens. Because of her, doors were opened to me which would probably have not been otherwise. When I ended up having knee surgery, it was Gloria who made sure that the booklets were ready and delivered to the event. She truly went the extra mile on this project.
Thanks are also in order to Randal Barnett for printing the booklets. This proved to be a real learning experience for all of us, Randal included.
However, it is to Sherry Digmon that I owe the most thanks. No one could possibly know the hours Sherry spent formatting, reformatting and still more reformatting the manuscript I gave her so that Randal could print it. All of this was done while she was publishing a newspaper and planning "Atmore" magazine, plus a few more printing projects. This woman is a stick of dynamite. I truly don't know how she does all she does. If it weren't for her diligence and high degree of professionalism, the Centennial "Reflections" booklet would never have come to fruition.
The entire Atmore area needs to give Gloria, Randal and Sherry a pat on the back for a job well done. I hope they will accept my thanks as well.
