Hurricanes dominate Tigers 17-6

The Hurricanes earned a big win over the Atmore Rotary Club Tigers Friday in Cal Ripken Minor League action.

With a big fourth inning, the Hurricanes pulled away with a 17-6 win at Tom Byrne Park.

Through one inning, the teams were tied at one with Cadanous scoring for the Tigers and Mascaro crossing the plate for the Hurricanes.

In the top of the second, the Hurricanes jumped out to a 12-1 lead with King, Mascaro, Milstead, Fischer, Gifford, McCullough, Holder and Rice all crossing the plate.

After another run in the top of the third put the Hurricanes ahead 13-1, the Tigers cut into the lead with three runs of their own, as Cadanous, Tamaya and Logan all scored.

The Hurricanes put the game out of reach with Gifford, Brice, Holder, Rice, King and Mascaro scoring to put the score at 17-4.

The Tigers chances ended in the bottom of the inning with only two runs scoring courtesy of Antonio and Sam to close the game out 17-6.

PCI (Blue) 5, PCI (White) 2
In a battle of PCI teams, the PCI Blue defeated the PCI White 5-2 in Cal Ripken Minor League action at Tom Byrne Park.

PCI White jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first with Gavin and Chasen crossing the plate, but PCI Blue would score five unanswered runs throughout the late innings with Daughtry, Paxton, Talan, Jacob and Kolby crossing the plate to give their team a win.
