Willie Pugh has seen many different hairstyles throughout her 95 years of living and with those changes, hair stylist Nancy Williams has been with her most of the way.
Pugh has been a loyal customer of Williams’, owner of Nancy’s Etc., for more than 30 years and when Pugh went in to her weekly appointment on her 95th birthday Friday, she was given a special surprise.
There was also a birthday cake and balloons awaiting Pugh’s arrival at Nancy’s Etc. Friday morning.
When asked why she has been going to the same hair stylist for so many years, Pugh had a simple answer.
Many years ago when the Oak Grove, Fla., resident was looking for somewhere to have her hair styled she started going to Nancy’s Etc. and has made several moves with Williams through five different facilities.
Williams said Pugh has been extremely loyal over the years.
Pugh said she was surprised when she walked in to her birthday party at Nancy’s Etc. Friday. Williams said the party was almost blown when Pugh called her Thursday and said she would not be able to make her weekly appointment.
Williams’ daughter, Haley Huskey, who also works at the salon as a nail technician, said Pugh is like family to her.
Pugh and Williams have created a bond between themselves throughout the time they’ve known each other and Pugh said she knows she is in good hands with Williams.
