Elvis will be in the auditorium Thursday.
The Brewton Council of the Arts will present Travis Ledoyt, “the world’s best young Elvis” at 7 p.m. Thursday at Woodfin Patterson Auditorium at Jefferson Davis Community College in Brewton. Tammy Robinson, president of the Brewton Arts Council, said she is excited about the upcoming performance.
Ledoyt utilizes an authentic four-piece band featuring an upright slap bass, guitar, piano and drums. He takes his audience back to a genuine 1956 concert.
Ledoyt was born in 1977 (the year Elvis died) in Greenfield, Mass. His love of music was evident from an early age, and he took piano lessons when he was 9 years old. He listened to his father’s recordings of Elvis and learned to sing along. He has a natural talent for the movements and singing voice. He has worked as backup for singing legends Little Richard, Johnny Rivers, B.B. King, Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis, Bill Haley’s Original Comets and others. He is the only tribute artist ever invited to perform at the Elvis Presley Days in Tupelo, Miss.
