Three Atmore residents were arrested and charged with first-degree robbery last Sunday following an incident at a Flomaton Shell Station, where the only items taken were assorted candies.
According to the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office, deputy Curtis Smith and agent Greg Forbes with the 21st Judicial Circuit Drug Task Force responded to a robbery in progress at a Hwy. 113 Shell Station in Flomaton.
After attempting to open the cash register numerous times without succeeding, the two gunmen grabbed a basket of assorted candies from the store and vacated the building with the candy.
Terrell Wade Boutwell, 26, Jeremy Duane McNeil, 21, and Jonathan McNeil, 19, all of Atmore, were each arrested and charged with first-degree robbery.
The sheriff’s office would not reveal which two suspects were the gunmen and which one was the getaway driver.
Boutwell, Jonathan McNeil and Jeremy Duane McNeil were arrested and transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton.
Boutwell and Jeremy McNeil remain in the Detention Center after their bond was revoked. Jonathan McNeil was released on a $25,000 bond.
