Dewey Payne
ATMORE - Mr. Dewey Payne, 75, passed away on Sunday, May 11, 2008 in Atmore.
Mr. Payne was a native Nokomis, Fla., a resident of Atmore for most of his life, a retired employee from the Alabama Department of Corrections after 30 years, and attended the Atmore Church of the Living God.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Clara Payne of Atmore; two sons, Dorsey (Peggy) Payne of Abbeville and Doug (June) Payne of East Brewton; three daughters, Ann (Glen) Bailey of Flomaton, Carol (Earl) Johnson of Perdido and Tammy Merchant of Atmore; 10 grandchildren; six nieces and seven nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. today, May 14, 2008 at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Earl Harrison officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill cemetery. Visitation was held from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Chad Payne, Michael Bailey, “Bo” Mitchell Boyette, Richard Hughes, Vern Peacock and Brandon Baggett.
Eldred Jake (Holly) Hollingsworth
WALNUT HILL, Fla. - Eldred Jake (Holly) Hollingsworth, 70 of Walnut Hill, Fla. died Monday, May 12, 2008 at his residence.
He was a Maintenance Planner with Monsanto Chemical, born in Nokomis, Fla. on April 7, 1938 to the late Jake C. and Bessie Joyner Hollingsworth.
His parents and a son, Tony E. Hollingsworth preceded him in death.
Survivors include, his wife, Patricia P. Hollingsworth of Walnut Hill, Fla.; three daughters, Vickie Hutchins (Mike) of Pace, Fla., Gabby Dortch (Tim) of Nokomis, Fla. and Vanessa Stokes (Randy) of Birmingham; a daughter-in-law, Lori Hollingsworth of Panama City, Fla.; two brothers, DeWayne Hollingsworth of Walnut Hill, Fla. and Paul Hollingsworth of Robertsdale; one sister, Thelma Heathcock of Nokomis, Fla.; seven grandchildren, Brandon Dortch (Cindy) and Caleb Dortch, both of Nokomis, Fla., Jake Hollingsworth and Myles Hollingsworth, both if Auburn, Hill Stokes of Birmingham and Brett Hutchins and Blake Hutchins, both of Pace, Fla. and two great grandchildren, Jackson and Mary Ruth Dortch, both of Nokomis, Fla.
Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. today, May 14, 2008 from the Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John Brannon officiating. Interment will follow in the Hollingsworth Family cemetery. Grandsons will be active pallbearers. Family will receive friends from 12 noon until service time today, May 14, 2008 at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.

Julia Nell McCall
MCDAVID, Fla. - Julia Nell McCall, 69, of McDavid died Wednesday, May 7, 2008 in Pensacola, Fla.
She was a homemaker, born on Feb. 26, 1939 to the late Gladden Russell and Connie Ellis Hall.
The love of her life, Wayne McCall and her father, Gladden Russell and her mother, Connie Snyder preceded her in death.
Survivors include, two sons, Thomas Russell Mothershed of South Carolina and David Byron Mothershed of Cantonment, Fla.; two daughters, Pamela Sue Skipper of Bonifay, Fla. and Lisa DeAnne Rhoades of Milton, Fla.; one brother, Allen Hall of Ervington; 12 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
Services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 12, 2008 from Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Roy Chewing officiating. Interment followed in Oak Grove cemetery. Active pallbearers were grandsons, Brandon Alan Mothershed, Michael Ryan Mothershed, Cory Wade Mothershed, Gordon William Strickland and Danny Richard Fish. Family received friends from 6:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday evening May 11, 2008 at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home. The family would like to thank the Nursing staff and Doctors at West Florida Hospital and Covenant Hospice of West Florida.

Priscilla Robinson Johnson
ATMORE - Priscilla Robinson Johnson was born on Aug. 2, 1955 to the late Sam and Mabelle Robinson. She became a member of New Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist at an early age where she was once a member of the choir. Priscilla married Issac Rice and to this union there were five children. Her first born, Lashonda Denise Rice preceded her in death. Four children live on to cherish her memory, Issac (Lori) Rice of Atmore, Nakia (Cherie) Rice of Pensacola, Fla., Oshanie Tomar Rice of Pensacola, Fla., and Takilyah (Charlie) Etheridge of Atmore Priscilla later united with Roosevelt Johnson until her homecoming with the Lord.
Priscilla Robinson Johnson finished school in 1973. She graduated in the nursing field where she became and RN for over 14 years. She later moved to Pensacola, Fla. where she was united with Roosevelt Johnson and began driving trucks.
On Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at 2 p.m. the good Lord put a calling on her where she laid her burden down and went to rest. She was preceded in death by her father, Sam Robinson and Sis. Patricia Lyons. Later, on May 9, 2008 her brother William Earl Robinson was also called to rest. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Roosevelt Johnson of Pensacola, Fla.; mother, Mabelle Robinson of Atmore; one sister, Linda (Joe) Grace of Pensacola, Fla.; two sisters-in-laws, Gloria Robinson of Atmore and Elizabeth Turner of Tensaw; four grandchildren, Nykeondre Dijunek Rice, Shyquindon Lacoran Rice of Pensacola, Fla., Taniyah Chave Etheridge, Jakailah Charlea Etheridge of Atmore; aunts, Voncille Lee of Clearwater, Fla. Juanita Ethel and Elmira Robinson from Fort Meyers, Fla., Odessa Kelly, Dorothy McMillan, Lula (Leroy) Knight, Novella Williams and Dorothy Lee, all of Atmore; uncles, Dan Robinson of Atmore, Leroy, James and Earnest Robinson of Fort Meyers, Fla.; very special nieces, Melissa Lashay Lyons, Valerie Renae Robinson and Lashonda Denise Jones, all of Atmore; one goddaughter, Nakia Rogers of Pensacola, Fla. and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Services were held at 2:30 p.m. Monday, May 12, 2008 at Gaines AME Chapel in Atmore with the Rev. Joseph Williams, Pastor and the Rev. Harold Askew officiating. Interment followed in Fairview cemetery. Pallbearers were relatives and friends and flower bearers were family and friends.
Final arrangements were entrusted to Christian Memorial Funeral Home.
Silas Garrett Tucker Sr.
URIAH - Mr. Silas Garrett Tucker Sr., age 80, died Sunday, May 11, 2008 at the North Baldwin Hospital in Bay Minette.
He was a native of Monroe County and had lived in Uriah most all of his life. He had owned and operated Tucker Feed and Seed Store in Uriah and was a member of the Uriah United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Juanita Tucker of Uriah; one son, Garry (Sandy) Tucker of Watkinsville, Ga.; three daughter, Jean (Dusty) Rhodes of Vicksburg, Miss Susan Cofield of Uriah, Martha (Wesley) Stuckey of Dalton, Ga.; one brother, James Arthur (Eulene) Tucker of Uriah; 11 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Visitation was held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at Johnson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today, May 14, 2008 at the Uriah United Methodist Church with the Rev. John Coker and the Rev. Jean Spikes officiating. Interment will follow in the Uriah cemetery with Johnson Funeral Home in charge of all arrangements. The family will be accepting flowers or donation may be made to the American Heart Association.
Seth Lee Garrett
IRVINGTON - Infant Seth Lee Garrett passed away Thursday, May 8, 2008 in Irvington.
Seth was a native of Mobile and a resident of Irvington.
His grandparents, Donald Hubbard, Calvin Stewart, Vernon McCraney and Mattie Lou Garrett preceded him in death.
Survivors include, his parents, Chris Garrett and Pam Hubbard of Irvington; a brother, Christopher Lee Garrett Jr. of Irvington; a sister, Makayla Paige Garrett of Irvington; his grandparents, Wanda and Ken Horman of Perdido, Jason Hubbard of Atmore, Jo and Robert Bexley of Irvington, and Joey and Gloria Garrett of Millbrook and great grandparents, Sarah Johnson of Rabun, Dorothy Hubbard of Phillipsville and Genise McCraney of Atmore.

William C. “Bill” Mullinax
MCDAVID, Fla. - Mr. William C. “Bill” Mullinax passed away Saturday, May 10, 2008 at a Pensacola Hospital.
Mr. Mullinax was a native of Rome, Ga., a former resident of Marietta, Ga. and a resident of McDavid, Fla. for the past 24 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cedartown, Ga. and a member of the American Legion and the Elks Club.
Survivors include, his wife of 24 years, Shirley Ingram of McDavid, Fla.; a son, John Mullinax of Mableton, Ga.; a daughter, Sheree Casteel (Dan) of Douglasville, Ga.; mother of his children, Laura Mullinax of Mableton, Ga.; three grandchildren, Susan (Kenneth) Conner of Douglasville, Ga., Scott and Jenny Casteel of Douglasville, Ga., Billy Mullinax of Mableton, Ga.; four great grandchildren, Ryan Conner, Jackson Conner, Madyson Casteel and Caleb Casteel of Douglasville, Ga. and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 12, 2008 at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Doug Coburn officiating. Burial followed at Christian Home Cemetery. Visitation was held from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Sunday, May 11, 2008 at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Kenny Peterson, Walter Ingram, Mickey Peterson, Terry Peterson, Jr. Peterson and Gene Wiggins. Honorary pallbearers were Buck Kelly, Ronnie Carden, Gordon Baggett, Buddy Wilson and Guy Prothro.

ATMORE - Mr. William (Fifty) Robinson Sr., a resident of Atmore, died Friday, May 9, 2008 at Mobile Infirmary. Public viewing will be held on Thursday, May 15, 2008 from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Christian Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be held at noon Friday, May 16, 2008 at Pleasant Hill Full Gospel .
Christian Memorial Funeral Home of Atmore will be in charge of the services.
Mary Ann Kennedy
WYANDANCH, N.Y. - Mrs. Mary Ann Kennedy, 59, of Wyandanch, N.Y. formerly of Atmore, died Saturday, May 10, 2008 in Wyandanch.
She was a native of Conecuh County and was reared in Atmore. She had lived in Wyandanch for many years and was a homemaker.
Her parents, George and Annie L. Montgomery; two brothers, Larry and Jerry Robbins and her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Robbins, preceded her in death.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband, Henry Kennedy of Wyandanch, N.Y.; one daughter, Shanava D. Kennedy of Wyandanch, N.Y.; one son, Henry Kennedy Jr. of Wyandanch, N.Y.; five sisters, Annie P. Robbins and Sandra R. Montgomery, both of Wyandanch, N.Y., Catherine McCreary and Suzette Barron, both of Atmore and Kellie Moye of Pensacola, Fla.; five brothers, George Montgomery, Sylvester Montgomery, Edgar Montgomery and Eddie Montgomery, all of Atmore and Lloyd D. Montgomery of Mobile and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 17, 2008 at the Old Ship Baptist Church in Atmore with Bishop Willie L. Williams officiating and the Rev. Tony McAroy, pastor. Public viewing will be held from 2 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Interment will be held in the Second Mt. Zion Baptist Church cemetery in Owassa.
Turner Funeral Chapel, LLC of Atmore will be directing services.
