The primary election votes are in and Democrat Brandon Smith will face Republican Kevin McKinley in the Nov. 4 Escambia County Commission District 4 general election.
Smith scored a total of 262 votes in Tuesday’s primaries, which was 70.05 percent on the Democratic side, beating incumbent William Brown, who received 112 votes, equaling 29.95 percent.
McKinley took home 251 votes for 59.2 percent of Republican votes, while former county commissioner for District 4 in 2000-04 James "Junior" Hall received 40.08 percent of the votes for a total of 173.

Democratic:
Brown — 112 (29.95 percent)
Smith — 262 (70.05 percent)
Republican:
Hall — 173 (40.8 percent)
McKinley — 251 (59.20 percent)

Goolsby — 622 (55.29 percent)
