James Aurther “Punkin” Selzer Jr.
URIAH – Mr. James Aurther “Punkin” Selzer Jr., 43, passed away on Monday, June 16, 2008 in Uriah.
Mr. Selzer was a native of Portsmouth, Va., a resident of Eureka Landing since 1899, a member of the Beat 1 VFD, an avid outdoorsman, loved to hunt and fish and loved the Alabama River. He was a member of the Poarch Band of Creek Indians and loved the Indian ways and culture.
Survivors include, his wife, Carrie “Mrs. Punkin” Selzer of Eureka Landing; his daughter, Jessica “Little Punkin” Selzer of Eureka Landing; father and mother, Jim and Linda Selzer of Little River and two brothers, Joey Selzer of Lindsay, Okla. and Robert Selzer of Little River.
Graveside services were held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 19, 2008 at the Whitmire Cemetery in Pensacola, Fla. with the Rev. Robert Throw and the Rev. Ronnie Williams officiating and Petty Funeral Homes, LLC. directing.
Visitation was held from 9:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 19, 2008 at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Jimmy England, Holly Wiggins, Steven Ikner, Scott England, Charles “Chuck” Gibson and Ronnie Williams. Honorary pallbearers will be Ricky Williams, Bill Brandt and Houston McGhee.
