U.S. Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Alabama) made a stop in Atmore Monday morning for an informal “Meet &Greet” at Day Gallery on Main, located at 120 S. Main St. The event was also hosted by the Atmore Area Chamber of Commerce.
Sen. Sessions said he enjoyed his quick visit in Atmore.
Day Gallery on Main owner Vikki Day and gallery manager Zandy Briggs both felt the event was successful.
Briggs said more than 200 individuals showed up for the “Meet &Greet” Monday morning. Those in attendance enjoyed donated refreshments and beverages from Winn Dixie, Pintoli’s Anchor Caf/ and Perdido Vineyards. The Chamber also provided coffee.
The “Meet &Greet” was just a “preview” of the Day Gallery on Main, Briggs said. The gallery did not officially open for business until Tuesday.
Chamber director Sheryl Vickery felt the event was successful.
Sen. Sessions said he enjoys traveling throughout Alabama and meeting the state’s residents.
