The Escambia County Blue Devil baseball program is no longer without a head coach as coach David Hill has been tabbed to replace coach Rasberry.
Athletic director and head football coach Kyle Davis said promoting Hill from assistant coach felt right.
Hill played four years at Huntingdon College in Montgomery where he was a pitcher.
His freshman season he played with Davis who was a senior at the time.
Hill’s accomplishments in his time at Huntingdon include being an All-Conference selection in his senior season, which is the season Huntingdon won their conference.
Hill said it is a great feeling to be the head coach of ECHS and added when it happened he was almost at a loss for words.
With the 2009 season still a good ways off Hill has already started thinking about his team and what he has or what needs to be addressed.
He said almost all of his players are coming back and even more were added in the off-season.
He added that the team will be good and compete at a high level.
