Flomaton Speedway and Escambia County district attorney Steve Billy have joined forces to promote the ZEROMETH campaign taking place in the State of Alabama.
The ZEROMETH campaign is a statewide fight against use of meth in the state being led by Gov. Bob Riley and district attorneys across the state.
Track promoter NASCAR Ron said this campaign is important for the community because of the increasing use of the drug.
Billy along with Escambia County have purchased an ad that has been placed on the hood of NASCAR Ron’s pace car, which will be displayed at the speedway.
Billy said ZEROMETH is more of a statewide campaign, but felt it was good to join the fight against the drug.
He added that a Web site has been established for the campaign and that the last six to eight months were very active.
Billy said that Brewton police chief Monte McGougin is also assisting on the ZEROMETH campaign.
