It will be home sweet home for the Northview Chiefs this week as they prepare to host their first game of the 2008 season.
The Chiefs (1-1) will host the Walton Braves (1-1) Friday night after being on the road the first two weeks of the season.
Head coach Cody Keene said this week’s game is a great opportunity for the Chiefs.
The Chiefs are going into this week of practice and focusing on better execution, according to Keene.
Keene said that the Chiefs are playing hard, and that is one of the reasons they were able to pick up a victory last week. He added that it is important if they want to gain another victory to eliminate mistakes.
The Braves run a spread offense and utilize the athleticism of their quarterback and halfback.
Keene said that the defense will need to play a great game to keep up with the speed of Walton.
Defensively, Walton uses a 4-3 defensive set, but also falls into a stacked 3-3-5.
Keene said the offense needs to have a strong performance to push past the aggressive defense.
The Chiefs and Braves kickoff on Friday at 7:30.
