A rivalry is going to be revived Friday in Bay Minette as the Blue Devils of Escambia County travel to face the Baldwin County Tigers.
The Blue Devils (0-4, 0-3) are going into the game with one thing in mind and that is to come away with a win.
Head coach Kyle Davis said a win would be huge for his team and could lead to further success.
It has been three years since the Blue Devils and Tigers have met on the gridiron with ECHS winning that battle in Davis’ first year.
Davis said after the last game, the Tigers former coach did not want to play the rivalry anymore, but with current coach David Wofford in charge, the rivals are able to meet once again.
Injuries have plagued Baldwin County this season, according to Davis.
Davis said that the Tigers have lost several players to injury including their quarterback who was hurt last week. He added that it would take more than just injuries to hold this team back though.
The Blue Devils and Tigers kickoff Friday night in Bay Minette at 7 p.m.
