Atmore Utilities Board shuts out PCI Indians 11-0

Center fielder Logan Smith legged out a triple and cracked a double, while scoring two runs to lead the Atmore Utilities Board to an 11-0 shutout over the PCI Indians in Babe Ruth action Thursday night.

The Utilities Board scored one run in each the first and third innings before their bats came to life scoring three runs in the fourth and six in the fifth giving the team an 11-0 lead and out of reach of any late-inning comeback by the Indians.

Matthew Quimby stuck out four batters in three innings of work to pick up the win on the mound. Blake Clark struck out one batter in two innings of relief.

Bo Bishop also finished the game with double and one run scored, while Coby Smith and William Swartzendruber each contributed with singles. Smith scored two runs and Swartzendruber scored once.

Leading the Indians was Brice McGhee with a single.

Greenlawn 6

Tomahawks 6

An extra inning of play was not enough to break a 6-6 tie between Greenlawn and the PCI Tomahawks Thursday night.

The game was called after the conclusion of the sixth inning around 10:30 p.m.

Kevin Vaughn and Hunter Rigby led the Tomahawks each finishing with a double, single and two runs scored. Chance Jackson also finished with a double and Gage White chipped in with a single.

Chasen Freeman led Greenlawn scoring two runs.
