Lawrence Edward "Dickie" Dickinson Jr.
ATMORE – Mr. Lawrence Edward "Dickie" Dickinson Jr., 80, of Atmore died Monday, April 9, 2007 in Atmore. He was the owner of Dickinson Furniture Co. born in Atmore to the late Lawrence Edward and Helen McConnico Dickinson, Sr. on Feb. 5, 1927. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Atmore, a graduate from Marion Institute, a graduate of the University of Alabama in 1949, a member of the Alabama Alumni Association. Served on the Escambia County School Board for over 23 years, and was a very avid golfer.
Survivors include, his wife, Conway Kennedy Dickinson, of Atmore; two sons, Richard Kennedy Dickinson of Gulf Shores, Lawrence Edward Dickinson III and wife, Mary Catherine of St. Charles, Missouri; one daughter, Lee Dickinson Cannon and husband, Mickey of Atmore; five grandchildren, Melissa Terrell, Michael Cannon, Annie Dickinson, Ted Dickinson, and Jennifer Dickinson; two great-grandchildren, Erin Terrell and Emma Terrell.
Services will be Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at 2:30 p.m. from the First United Methodist Church, Atmore with Rev. Dan Rhodes and Rev. Leon Stewart officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be, Michael Cannon, Ted Dickinson, Bill Neighbors, Bo Maxwell, Bill Ausley, and George VanPelt. Honorary pallbearers will be Jack Lufkin, Jim Biggs, Bill Chapman, Tim Currie, Robert Maxwell, and Methodist Men's Club.
Family will receive friends, Wednesday April 11, 2007 from the First United Methodist Church from 1 p.m. until service time.
Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home, Inc. is in charge of all arrangements.
Emma McNair
BASSFIELD, MISS. – Mrs. Emma McNair, 82, passed away Sunday, April 1, 2007 at Regency Hospital in Hattiesburg, Miss. She was a native of Atmore and a resident of Bassfield, Miss. for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Buford McNair, Sr.
Survivors include, six daughters, Louise (Robert Earl) Haynes of Moss Point, Miss., Geneva Lambert of Monroeville, Josie (David) Hinton of Hattiesburg, Miss., Evelyn Tatum, LillieBoose and Beulah (Danny) Mikell, all of Bassfield, Miss.; five sons, S. I (Ruthie) Baldwin of Moss Point, Miss. George Rigsby of Orlando, Fla.., Walter (Shelia) Smith of Petal, Miss., Ray C. Smith of Hattiesburg, Miss., Buford (Vernice) McNair, Jr. of Boca Raton, Fla.; two sisters, Mary Jones of Atmore and Lillian Whitaker of Montgomery; 38 grandchildren and 63 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 10, 2007 at 1 p.m. at Second Mt. Triumph Baptist Church in Atmore with Rev. Michael Henderson officiating.
Interment followed in Stallworth Cemetery.
Turner Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Eloise Lambert
ATMORE – Mrs. Eloise Lambert, 66, passed away Thursday, April 5, 2007 at Atmore Community Hospital. She was a native of Camden and a resident of Atmore for many years.
A member of Second Mt. Triumph Baptist Church and was on the Deaconess Board.
She retired working in electronics for airplane parts.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Dane and Margaret Phillips and a daughter, Tanya Montrice Lambert.
Survivors include, her husband, John Roosevelt Lambert of Atmore; three daughters, Cynthia (George) Robinson of Dacula, Ga., Lisa (David) Myers of Rio Rancho, N.M., Stacy (Jeffery) Myers of St. Petersburg, Fla.; two sons, Ronald (Nicole) Lambert of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Donald Lambert of Atmore; six sisters, Anita Cooks, Evie Thomas, and Margaret Ann Reyers all of Atmore, Leana Tucker of Colo., Althea Stallworth and Tammy Phillips, both of Mobile; eight brothers, Willie James Bufford of St. Louis, Mo., Leo Tucker, Jr. and Albert Tucker, both of Atlanta, Ga., Henry Tucker and Jackie Tucker, both of Atmore, Marshall Knight and Dave Phillips, Jr., both of Mobile, Nathaniel Eli of Akron, Ohio.; 14 grandchildren; one great-grandchildren; stepmother, Mattie Lou Phillips.
Funeral services will be April 12, 2007 at 1 p.m. at Second Mt. Triumph Baptist Church in Atmore with the Rev. Joe Hayes officiating.
Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
Public viewing will be held Wednesday, April 11, 2007 from 2 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at the Chapel.
Turner Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Kenny Ray Brown
ATMORE – Mr. Kenny Ray Brown, 56, of Atmore passed away on Saturday April 7, 2007 in Bay Minette at North Baldwin Hospital.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 13, 2007 at 11 a.m. at Gaines Chapel A.M.E with Rev. Joseph Williams officiating. Baldwin Community Chapel Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
Ricky O'Neil English
ATMORE – Ricky O'Neil English, 43, of Atmore died Friday, April 6, 2007 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, Fla. Public viewing on Friday, April 13, 2007 from 3 to 8 p.m. at Christian Memorial Funeral Chapel. Service will be Sat. at 10:30 a.m. at Liberty Church, 200 3rd Ave. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
Christian Memorial Funeral Home of Atmore is directing.
Mary L. Williams
ATMORE – Mrs. Mary L. Williams, 84, of Atmore died Sunday, April 8, 2007 at Baptist Hospital in Pensacola.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2007 at 1 p.m. at Greater Mt. Triumph Baptist Church in Atmore with Rev. Willie Hawthorne officiating. Interment will be in the Stallworth Cemetery with Turner Funeral Chapel directing.
